The Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht is conducting a review of the Official Languages Act 2003, in line with the commitment in the Programme for Government. The terms of reference for the review are available here.
The Department received circa 1,400 survey responses and 240 submissions from interested parties during its public consultation process on the review which ended on 31 January 2012. Analysis of the recommendations received is underway.
The Department will publish on its website in due course the submissions received from those who indicated their agreement to their submissions being published. It should be noted that the submissions will be published in the language in which they were received.
